Guava policy
Creator, Brand and Partner Terms
If you publish, promote or sell through Guava, these terms apply to you on top of the Terms of Service and the Community Guidelines. They exist so that readers can trust what they find here, and so that nobody is confused about who is responsible for a commercial promise.

01Who this applies to
- Approved creators publishing articles, documentaries, research summaries, stories, novels or comics.
- Course authors publishing modules, lessons, quizzes and certificates.
- Anyone running a sponsored offer or promotion attached to their work.
- Brands with a page on Guava, and channels listed in TV.
- Anyone who posts a partner listing or a product entry.
02Creator status
- It is applied for, and granted at our discretion. we can approve or refuse an application without giving reasons, and we are not obliged to consider a reapplication. Submitting an application does not, by itself, give you permission to publish anything publicly. Only an approved application does, and until then your account is subject to the ordinary rules for a member who has not applied.
- It is a permission, not property. creator status, a verified badge and any featured placement can be limited or withdrawn at any time, including where the account breaks these rules, publishes political material, damages trust in the platform, or goes inactive.
- It is personal. do not transfer, sell or share creator access, and do not publish on behalf of someone else's business without telling us.
- It carries no promise. approval does not entitle you to reach, featuring, recommendation, sponsorship or income.
03Standards for published work
- It must be yours. originally written, filmed or produced by you, or fully licensed to you, including footage, music, images, subtitles and quotations.
- It must be accurate. factual claims, statistics and research summaries must be sourced. Represent your sources faithfully and do not overstate what a study found.
- Corrections are published, not hidden. if you get something materially wrong, correct it visibly rather than quietly deleting it.
- Synthetic media must be labelled. if part of a piece was generated or materially altered, say so where it could be mistaken for a record of a real event.
- Subjects must consent. get consent before filming or naming a person as a subject, and never publish a child without a parent or guardian's consent.
- Politics and breaking news. this is the one category where creator status is not just encouraged but required: political and breaking news content may only be published by an approved creator, and only where it is strictly educational. Campaigning, party promotion, live or breaking coverage of an unfolding event, and calls to political action are never allowed, from anyone.
04Offers, sponsorship and advertising
- Disclose. any paid, sponsored, gifted, affiliate or exchanged arrangement must be disclosed clearly and where the reader will see it, before they act on it.
- Keep editorial and commercial apart. an offer attached to an article is an offer. It must not be written to read as part of the editorial piece.
- Substantiate claims. you must be able to back up what an offer says about a product, a price, a result or an endorsement.
- You are responsible for the destination. including the landing page, the seller behind it, and what happens to a reader who clicks.
Categories we do not accept
- Political advertising and anything on behalf of a political actor.
- Gambling, betting, lotteries and prediction games.
- Investment, foreign exchange, cryptocurrency and lending offers, unless the advertiser is licensed for it in Tanzania and shows us the licence.
- Medicines, supplements, treatments or devices making health claims, and anything claiming to cure a serious illness.
- Adult products and services.
- Weapons, ammunition and tobacco.
- Alcohol, except where it is lawful, clearly age-appropriate and not aimed at young people.
- Multi-level marketing, recruitment schemes and anything paying for recruitment rather than for a product.
05Partner listings and products
- Real businesses only. a listing must be a genuine product or service with its own working website, described accurately.
- You own the information. the name, description, category, region, price, currency, contact details and links are yours, and so is the responsibility for keeping them true.
- Reviews are honest. no fake reviews, no fake testimonials and no paying for either.
- We may remove a listing. on report, on our own review, or because it does not meet these rules. Listings are also reviewed before they appear.
06Courses and certificates
- The author is responsible. for the accuracy, safety and legality of a course, its lessons and its quiz answers.
- Certificates are records, not qualifications. a Guava certificate records that a person completed material on Guava. It is not accredited by NACTVET, the TCU or any other authority, it is not a professional or academic qualification, and it must never be presented as one.
- Do not imply accreditation. no course may claim, imply or suggest recognition, licensing or accreditation it does not have.
- No professional-practice training without qualification. do not publish courses that purport to train people to practise medicine, law, engineering, pharmacy or another regulated profession.
- Removal. a course that is removed takes its lessons, quizzes and enrolment progress with it. Certificates already issued may be invalidated where the course was fraudulent.
07Channels, streams and embedded video
- Only list a channel or stream you have the right to distribute or link to.
- You are responsible for what a stream you listed carries, including political, unlicensed and prohibited content.
- Broadcasting and content licensing in Tanzania is regulated. Holding the necessary permissions is your responsibility, not ours.
- We remove listings on complaint, on a regulator's request, or at our own discretion.
08Money, tax and status
- We do not pay you. Guava does not currently operate a revenue share, a creator fund or any payment to creators. If we introduce one, it will have its own written terms.
- Your earnings are yours to handle. money you receive from a sponsor, a client or a buyer comes to you directly. We do not collect, hold, split or guarantee it.
- Tax is yours. you are responsible for registering, declaring and paying whatever the Tanzania Revenue Authority or your own tax authority requires. We do not withhold or remit anything for you and we give no tax advice.
- You are not our employee. nothing here creates employment, partnership, agency or a joint venture between you and Guava. You are independent and you choose what to publish.
09Removal, demotion and loss of status
We may remove your work, stop featuring it, withdraw creator status, take down offers, delist a channel or close the account, where these terms, the Community Guidelines or the law are broken, or where a regulator or a court requires it.We will tell you what was actioned and why, and you can ask a person to review it within 30 days, as set out in the Community Guidelines. What none of this creates is a right to restoration or to compensation, including for lost audience, lost sponsorship or lost income. Keep your own copies of everything you publish.Questions about creator status, offers, listings or courses go to this address.
